Rite Aid is probably your best bet when looking for free or better than free deals. The reason for this is that they have a rewards program, which you should sign up for HERE, the Video Values program HERE and an awesome rebate program, HERE.
The Single Check Rebate program is wonderful. Unlike other rebate programs, you can hang onto your receipt because you only need to enter the information online, as opposed to mailing it in! This becomes VERY valuable when companies (like Olay HERE) release mail in rebate offers! The Single Check Rebates are easy to use. After you purchase qualifying items, just login to your account and enter your receipt info. Each month, you can accumulate as much as you can toward a single check that Rite Aid will send out upon request. BE CAREFUL though, as you can only request ONE check per month, so it is a good idea to wait until the month is over before requesting.
What makes the rebate program even better is that occasionally they will offer additional offers for things like gift cards or beauty bags. An example of this occurred this past summer when Rite Aid offered many 100% rebates on oral care items that made them free. In addition, they were offering a $10 Rite Aid gift card when you purchase $25 worth of oral care products (BEFORE any coupons and rebates!) Can you say FREE $10 gift card!?
The Wellness+ rewards program at Rite Aid works very similarly to the Extra Care program at CVS. When participating items are purchased, a coupon or coupons print out at the bottom of the receipt with coupons good for a varied number of dollars. There is no minimum purchase required to use them either! If you have a $3 +Up Reward coupon, you can get something for $3 and pay only using that! You cannot get cash change on them though, and you cannot use them to pay the tax.
Further, the Wellness+ program offers levels of membership that each have their own set of rewards.
The levels and what it takes to get there are as follows:
Plus - for every $125* spent you get a one time 10% off shopping pass**.
Silver + - Spend $500* and get 10% off all non-prescription purchases every day.**
Gold + - Spend $1000* and get 20% off all non-prescription purchases every day.**
Everyone gets 10% off all Rite Aid brand items every day.
*Dollars spent do not include the standard no-nos like alcohol, gift cards, lotto, etc. See here for details.
**When used with a sale item, customer will get lower of the 2, not both (lame).
Keep in mind, the qualifying dollars spent (points earned) RESET every calendar year, but you keep your current status. So, if you area Silver+ member with 700 points, on Dec 31st, you will still be a Silver+ member, but will have 0 points on Januray 1st.
Furthermore, Rite Aid's Video Values page gives you the ability to earn even more coupons, and most importantly, $4/$20 purchase coupons. The page, which can be found HERE rewards you for watching videos for featured products. Be aware, they really want you to watch them (you'll see what I mean) but it is definitely worth it! The coupons change every month, but the $4/$20 keeps coming back!
Using Coupons at Rite Aid
Rite Aid accepts one Rite Aid and one Manufacturer's coupon per item.
Rite Aid also accepts internet coupons.
Unlike Walgreens, at Rite Aid, you can buy 6 items and use more than 6 coupons.
Rite Aid accepts as many +Up rewards as you have!
Rite Aid seems to have the most available $/$$ coupons out there as well. They can be found most consistently on their Video Values page found HERE.
Coupons earned and printed from the Video Values page are considered Rite Aid coupons and can be stacked with manufacturer's coupons.
See the official Rite Aid coupon policy here.
